Having been started in 1982 and incorporated in 1984, Overclean Ltd. began in a social climate that was coming to terms with the aftermath of Legionella outbreaks. Ductwork cleaning at the time was relatively unheard of; its importance rarely recognised. As a result, the industry was new and its technology fairly basic. It was in this milieu that Overclean Ltd. invented tools to carry out the work intended.
From these early beginnings, Overclean has been at the forefront of ductwork cleaning technology development. Over the course of the last quarter of a century, the technology changed, the techniques have been improved, but the hard work and approach to the task at hand remains the same.
The Company was the first in the country to be awarded ISO 9000 status, and continues to hold this accreditation to ISO 9001. Overclean was also one of the first companies in Europe to work to recognised standards. This means that its quality assurance is not just a product of its continuing hard work but also verifiable by external recognition by the B&ES. The B&ES Component Assessment Scheme gives assurance that Overclean are professional and experienced in the field of ventilation hygiene. The SSIP passport leads to accreditation with Safecontractor, Constructionline, Chas and SMAS as external audits. As an approved supplier with Sedex, this shows our continued responsibility and ethical business practices in the global supply chain.
Meet the Team
The technical expertise of Overclean Ltd. is probably its greatest asset. Not only have many of the team been with the company for the majority of its life but they are also one of the most influential and respected in the duct hygiene industry. The company has strongly influenced the development of TR: 19, the industry standard for ductwork cleanliness in the UK, but also had a hand in founding and participation in the European Ventilation Hygiene Association (EVHA). Ensuring high standards of both professional service and quality of work is the aim of the team, who work beyond duty to ensure Overclean’s customers are satisfied.
